Phelps Trail

Phelps Trail is a hiking trail in Essex County, New York. It is within Johns Brook Primitive Area, High Peaks Wilderness, and Adirondack Park. It is 7.3 miles long and begins at 1,521 feet altitude. Traveling the entire trail is 6.0 miles with a total elevation gain of 1,060 feet. The Garden Trail Register yes and the Garden Parking Area parking are near the trailhead. The Deer Brook Lean-to, Howard Lean-to, and Bushnell Falls Lean-to #2 shelters can be seen along the trail. There are also restroom and camp sites along the trail. The trail ends near the NYS DEC Johns Brook Interior Station ranger station. This trail connects with the following: Shorey Short Cut, Hopkins Trail, Range Trail, Van Hoevenberg Trail and Klondike Notch Trail.
