Calamity Brook Trail

Calamity Brook Trail is a hiking trail in Essex County, New York. It is within High Peaks Wilderness and Adirondack Park. It is 5.4 miles long and begins at 1,766 feet altitude. Traveling the entire trail is 10.9 miles with a total elevation gain of 1,830 feet. The Upper Works Trail Register information board and the Upper Works Parking Area parking are near the trailhead. The McMartin Lean-to, Calamity Lean-to, and Opalescent Lean-to shelters can be seen along the trail. There are also wetlands along the trail. This trail connects with the following: Colden Dam, Herbert Brook Trail (unmarked), Indian Pass Trail and Lake Colden Trail.
