Star Peak

Star Peak Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This day hike to the highest peak in the East Humboldt Range offers expansive views of northwestern Nevada. It is a steep hike up the road through the juniper forest, but the reward is an ever- expanding view. After about 1.5 miles, the road follows the ridgetop east and climbs less steeply.

About 3 miles from Eldorado Creek, the road turns left (north) along the slopes of Star Peak. Continue north along the road until it reaches the summit ridge, then leave the road and walk cross-country south up the ridge to Star Peak. There are 100-mile views in all directions, and the views of the Humboldt River Valley and Rye Patch Reservoir are especially fine."
