Duffer Peak

Duffer Peak Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"A cross-country day hike to the highest peak in the Pine Forest Range. The cross-country route goes through an aspen grove, skirting the east edge of Little Onion Reservoir, then follows the steep drainage of Alder Creek southeast to Outlaw Meadow.

Stay on the left (north) side of this series of spacious alpine meadows past a small swampy lake, then cross the creek and head for the foot of the steep north ridge of Duffer Peak, 0.5 mile south. Pass the small but scenic Hidden Meadow and continue southeast up the steep drainage northeast of the peak. Range. Once on the ridge, turn north and follow it to the summit."
