Clear Lake Trail

Clear Lake Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"A day hike in the Monitor Range featuring a beautiful aspen-filled canyon bottom and access to the country east of Table Mountain. The unsigned trail initially follows the south side of Clear Creek, through an open area burned in an old fire.

The first 0.5 mile of the trail avoids the willow-choked streambed, but then it crosses to the north side. A section of the creek may be dry, but there is water farther up the trail. Massive limestone cliffs tower above the trail as it drops into the streambed to wind through shady groves of aspen. This section provides very enjoyable walking as the trail climbs gradually."
