This extremely manicured and heavily trafficked trail leads through forested areas, neighborhoods, a golf course, and ends at a highway (Mt Rose Highway). Although my dog and I absolutely enjoyed it, I wouldn't necessarily call it a hike -- it is more of a really nice suburban walk through the backyards of Alpine mansions with a seriously awesome view of the mountains. It is very serene and pretty along the creek, with lots of lovely cottonwoods, pines, willows, alders, and aspen trees. I bet it is quite beautiful in the autumn months. My dog really loved the trail and playing in the water. Most of it is very flat terrain and fairly shaded under tree canopies, which is nice if you happen to get a late start under the hot Nevada sun. There is so much housing around the trail, which is fine, but for me is kind of a downside because I enjoy nature so much over housing developments. I imagine it could be such a blast on a bike. The entire area is very well maintained and excellent for families, dogs, and anyone seeking a relaxing walk, a level trail run, a bike ride, or just moderate exercise.
