Lawnmower (Moderate) Professional Reviews and Guides

"Lawnmower takes you on a ride to the outskirts of the Cottonwood Valley. It starts at the parking lot in Blue Diamond, climbs The Old Spanish Trail, and then takes a connector trail that eventually hooks up with the Landmine Loop, before veering off to South Cut. From here the trail climbs high onto a hill that offers great views of the Las Vegas Valley and the Cottonwood trail system.

From the parking lot, pull out onto Castalia Street and turn left heading to Cottonwood Drive. Turn left again and follow Cottonwood Drive. A right turn on Cerrito Street will lead you to the trailhead at the top of the hill. Cerrito Street is a bit of a climb and you’ll know you’ve found the trailhead when asphalt turns to dirt."

"This trail offers a fun alternative to the Lawnmower Trail which leads into the Lawnmower Descent. Instead of climbing Lawnmower, you take Rubber Ducky to Wounded Knee and then make the long gradual climb, eventually reaching the top of the hill.

Once at the top you begin a descent down the other side, eventually leading into a technical downhill section before meeting up again with the connector trail that takes you back to the dirt road."

"Lawnmower Saddle is a fun ride that travels from Rubber Ducky to Lawnmower. It is called a saddle because the trail creates a reverse U—a kind of hump—meaning you ride one trail up to the top of the hump and another trail down the other side, just as if you were riding on a saddle. The trail climbs up Rubber Ducky for a short distance before heading to the left on a trail called Wounded Knee.
