Rogers Warm Spring

Rogers Warm Spring Professional Review and Guide

"A large and picturesque pond and small creek adjacent to Lake Mead within the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. This is a popular picnicking spot, not the best place for a private hot spring soak. A natural hot spring forms this large pond in the middle of the desert, a few miles from Lake Mead. The water in the pond is pleasantly warm for bathing, although it has a murky and unappealing appearance. The water flows over a small concrete dam and forms a small creek. The small waterfall produced by this flow can be a nice spot for a bath if the weather is nice.

Keep in mind that the water is not hot in the pond and rather lukewarm by the time it flows into the creek. Keep in mind also that this is a public picnic spot that receives many visitors. This is not a secluded spring. The National Park Service warns that bathers should not allow water into their noses, mouths, or ears, since a kind of amoeba that can be extremely dangerous has been found in the water. Follow this advice and do not put your head under."
