Spring Mountains: Mary Jane Falls Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This is the most popular hike in the Spring Mountains, up challenging switchbacks to a refreshing waterfall. But avoid this trip during thunderstorms. In 1971, a sudden storm washed away the campground where the trailhead is located now. Vehicle: Passenger car."

One of my favorite hikes when I lived in Las Vegas. It's a great place to go during the summer when the heat down in the city is unbearable and oppressive. The shade on the trail is welcome although the waterfall isn't as impressive during the summer (better in the spring after the snow melt). The switchbacks up to the falls are a bit tough if you're not in shape and the trail is a little rocky but I think someone who's a beginner could still do this one, just take a lot of breaks and enjoy the views. A good hike for dogs too if they're in good shape.

Well traveled but maintained well too. Not much water flowing in early August, but a nice hike anyway.
