Mummy Springs

Mummy Springs Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Mummy Springs is a protected, wooded area with a small spring and subsequent seasonal stream that your dog will love hiking to. The area is quite tranquil and has views of the Sheep Mountain Range to the northeast. The trail is well marked and straightforward with some switchbacks as you gain altitude, but overall quite moderate.

“Raintree,” the famous bristlecone pine tree, is along the route, just before Mummy Springs. The dogs will enjoy the terrain of this hike. The ground is primarily dirt, so it is easy on the paws. Regardless of what size your dog is—tall legs or short—as long as your dog is in shape it shouldn’t have a problem on this trail. Under foot and paw: Dirt trail."

"This hike features a spring and one of the largest bristlecone pines in the Spring Mountains. Bristlecone pines reach ages of more than 4,700 years, and their gaunt, twisted forms are mute testimony to the difficulties of life near the timberline." Read more
