This is an easy day hike on an interpretive nature trail. The Moenkopi Trail starts southwest of the visitor center near the weather station. Along the way, watch for creosote, blackbrush, and yucca, typical members of this desert plant community. The trail leads to the crest of the hill west of the visitor center. At the crest, cottontop barrel cactus and Triassic fossils can be seen. Because this loop is a simple nature trail, specific miles and directions are not included here.
