Skunk Harbor

Skunk Harbor Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Lake Tahoe is world renowned for the beauty of its exceptionally clear waters and sparkling sand beaches. Despite its name, Skunk Harbor confirms that reputation, beckoning swimmers, sunbathers, picnickers, and sightseers to visit the scenic, crescent- shaped shoreline. Along with the natural beauty, visitors will experience a bit of history from the Newhall Mansion, a preserved relic from Tahoe’s resort period of the early 1900s. The 1.6-mile hike and limited parking at the trailhead ensures that Skunk Harbor won’t be as crowded as other Tahoe beaches. Nevertheless, don’t expect to be alone."
