Diamond Peak began as the co-brainchild of Art Wood, a developer from Oklahoma , and Luggi Foeger, Austrian-born ski consultant, first Director of Badger Pass Ski School in Yosemite, and member of the 10th Mountain Division. The area is small enough that family members can take runs separately and convene again later without getting lost. All staff members are extremely helpful and eager to make your day a memorable one, and the overall jolliness of the resort gives it an amusement park feel. Because of Diamond Peak’s family-friendly reputation, the mountain isn’t beset with shredders, the upper part of the hill is virtually empty, and there are no lift lines, even on weekends. If you’re interested in running a few fast laps on good terrain while having an endless view of Lake Tahoe, pay Diamond Peak a visit. This eTrail contains a thorough description of the resort including driving directions, mountain statistics, trail profiles, extensive lodging & dining information, travel tips, and much more.
