McCullough Hills Trail

McCullough Hills Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This well- groomed dirt trail winds its way into the hills of Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area, offering a completely different view of the Nevada desert, one where volcanic action played a large part. The trail is one of the few multipurpose trails in the southern part of the valley that accommodates hikers, mountain bike riders, and equestrian enthusiasts.

In 2002, Congress set aside 48,438 acres of land with the intent of protecting a portion of Southern Nevada’s Mojave Desert for the “benefit and enjoyment of present and future generations.” The area became known as the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area. A portion of Sloan Canyon is known as the North McCullough Wilderness and it is through this wilderness that the McCullough Hills Trail runs. The McCullough Hills Trail is a good place to start for anyone looking to get into mountain biking."
