Wheeler Peak Trail Professional Reviews and Guides
"This is the highest summit in the Snake Range and second highest in Nevada."
--Bruce Grubbs, Hiking Great Basin National Park (Falcon Guides).
"A trail to the highest summit in the Snake Range and the second highest summit in Nevada, located within Great Basin National Park. Follow the Summit Trail as it climbs gradually southwest through stands of aspen along the southern slopes of Bald Mountain. Openings in the forest provide outstanding views of Wheeler and Jeff Davis Peaks. The Alpine Lakes Trail joins from the left; continue a short distance west, then turn sharply right onto the signed Wheeler Peak Trail."
