Alkali Hot Springs

Alkali Hot Springs Professional Review and Guide

"Two hot springs in a small oasis in the middle of dry central Nevada. One of the springs is diverted into a makeshift tub, making a nice bath. Hot water emerges from the side of a small hill in a desert area. A few trees and an empty pool mark what was at one time a hot springs resort. The hot water is trapped in two separate pools of varying temperatures.

A small concrete deck adjacent to the pools makes getting in and out easier. The pools are big enough for three or four people, and are about 3 feet deep. The water temperature varies depending upon the time of year, but averages about 108 degrees F. in one, and 100 degrees F. in the other. The water is a little murky, but still makes a pleasant bath. Primitive, except for the diversion of water into the tub."

This is a privately owned hot spring. Please remember to pack in/pack out when you go. It's always a good idea to take a trash bag, as the locals pick up garbage left by others. Please respect the area so that it will continue to be available to everyone!! The rocks are slippery so please take caution when using the spring. The smaller spring isn't really meant for people, as it is a secondary cleaning pool to the spring bath.
