"An interpretive day hike through a sand dune area featuring a historic Pony Express station. The Sand Springs Desert Study Area is located in a 50-acre area closed to off-road vehicles just south of Sand Mountain.

Sand Mountain is approximately 3.5 miles long, 1 mile wide, and rises about 600 feet above the valley floor, making it the largest single dune in the Great Basin. You can learn about the unique sand dune environment and view a Pony Express station along with other historic features."
