Jones-Whites Creek Loop

Carson City, Nevada

Jones-Whites Creek Loop Professional Review and Guide

"This long trail loop links two steep creek drainages at the foot of Mount Rose. On both the long traverse along the lower slopes separating Jones and Whites Creeks and the top of the ridge between the two, hikers are greeted by sweeping views of Truckee Meadows and the Washoe Valley.

No matter how you link the two, you’ve got a climb ahead and miles to travel. A If you are tempted to turn around, remember that it will likely take just as much energy to go on as it will to go back. Make sure your water bottles are full, shift into a low steady gear, and enjoy some of the most spectacular landscapes the foothills outside Reno have to offer. Described in a counterclockwise direction, the stick of this lollipop loop climbs gently away from the trailhead through the widely spaced yellow pines of Galena Creek Regional Park to the start of the loop."
