The Mini Hurl Loop

The Mini Hurl Loop Professional Review and Guide

"The ride is a shorter version of the Hurl Loop, offering different views of Cottonwood Valley. This trail is a favorite of the many wild burros that live in the area and it is not uncommon to find them walking down the trail on their way to Blue Diamond.

This trail is a shorter version of another trail called The Hurl. As you might guess by its name, The Hurl is a much more difficult trail, requiring more advanced mountain bike skills. This version of the trail has some technical areas, but the trail can be ridden by those with all skill levels. The trail also offers views of some interesting rock formations, as it follows a natural wash up into the hills.

From the parking lot, pull out onto Castalia Street and turn left heading to Cottonwood Drive. Turn left again and follow Cottonwood Drive up the hill. A right turn on Cerrito Street will lead you to the trailhead at the top of the hill. Cerrito Street is a bit of a climb and you’ll know you’ve found the trailhead when asphalt turns to dirt. There will also be several large rocks at the trailhead, which are meant to deter motorized vehicles from going on the trail."
