Landmine Loop

Landmine Loop Professional Review and Guide

"The Landmine Loop covers a large part of the Cottonwood system of trails as it runs behind the small town of Blue Diamond. The trail makes its way through Cottonwood just outside Red Rock National Conservation Area, below the La Madre Mountains and the area known as the Red Rock Escarpment—an area that provides spectacular views of Cottonwood and all it has to offer.

From the parking lot, pull out onto Castalia Street and turn left heading to Cottonwood Drive. Turn left again and follow Cottonwood Drive up the hill. While traveling up the street, don’t be in a hurry to get to the trail. Take time to notice the houses in the area. Many of them are wonderfully decorated and quite quaint. A right turn on Cerrito Street will lead you to the trailhead at the top of the hill. Cerrito Street is a bit of a climb and you’ll know you’ve found the trailhead when asphalt turns to dirt."
