Mountain View Nature Trail

Mountain View Nature Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"An easy interpretive nature trail in Great Basin National Park that explains the piñon-juniper plant community and the geology of the Snake Range. This nature trail is a good way to become familiar with the piñon-juniper plant community. It starts at the north end of the visitor center at the old log cabin. The cabin was a guest lodge during the early days of Lehman Cave National Monument. The trail continues behind the cabin, gradually climbing the slope until a viewpoint is reached. Interpretive signs point out typical plants common in the Great Basin."
