"A day hike to a Pony Express station with scenic views of the Desatoya Mountains. The Cold Springs Trail begins near US 50 at an interpretive display that describes the Pony Express. In 1860 and 1861 the Pony Express delivered mail by horseback from Missouri to California.

This trail provides access to a well-preserved Pony Express station. Other historic sites in the vicinity include an Overland Stage and a Transcontinental Telegraph station."
