Whiterocks Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This is a true geologic adventure where you’ll discover startling mounds of white ash?ow tuff—a scrambler’s delight. Along the way you’ll be treated to the rugged lower canyon of the Middle Fork Gila, hot springs, and a high wild mesa with expansive views.

This excursion to the Whiterocks can be done as a long day hike from the Middle Fork trailhead. For a less strenuous outing, without the pressure of sunset pushing you, you can backpack up the Middle Fork and camp along the river and do the 7-mile hike as a day hike. This schedule will permit you to lounge in the hot springs en route."
