Little Creek Loop

Little Creek Loop Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This enjoyable loop parallels a streamside meadow and a valley of pine parks, oak, and pinyon- juniper. The rolling ridge part of the route opens to a variety of volcanic formations. This hike merits a strenuous rating because of its length and the lack of water after mile 4.

It is not recommended for the hot summer months for the same reasons. In addition, the ridge above Cliff Dweller and EE Canyons is highly vulnerable to lightning. Back in the 1990s five fires erupted in a cluster of lightning strikes near the trail intersection of Miller Spring and Ring Canyon Trails. During 2011 a much larger surrounding area burned in the human-caused Miller Fire."
