EE Canyon Loop

EE Canyon Loop Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"With only modest elevation gain, this compact day loop winds
through diverse terrain. Scenery varies from steep-walled canyons to ridgetop vistas to a wide river valley. This route is an excellent choice for those seeking a good feel for the Gila in a short time.

The popular EE Canyon Loop is a good warmup with the added attraction of year-round vehicular access to the trailhead. During the first 0.8 mile the zigzag trail gains 400 feet on a rock-stepped path, recently reconstructed after the 2011 Miller Fire. The fire perimeter encompasses most of the ensuing route all the way to the West Fork of the Gila River."
