Cliff Ruins Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This hike offers a short and relatively easy way to view a Mogollon cliff ruin adjacent to a large cave entrance in a remote setting. It’s interesting to imagine what its purpose may have been so far from the main cliff dwelling complex below. The rugged scenic West Fork canyon adds to it's mystique.

This short day hike takes you into the canyon of the West Fork Gila River, to the site of a remote cliff dwelling, known locally as 3-Mile Ruin. There are numerous campsites along the river in the vicinity of the cliff dwelling, so the trip can be done as an overnight backpack. This trail has moderate to heavy use, with both hikers and horse parties enjoying trips up the West Fork."
