"This off-trail route is easily accessible year-round. The canyon is picturesque, rugged in places, but with a bottom wide enough for enjoyable hiking. As a cross-country hike there is an added sense of discovery and adventure.

This short off-trail excursion provides a sense of adventure with the advantages of year-round vehicular access to the trailhead and a wide, low- gradient canyon floor suitable for casual strolling. Among other places, the trailhead sign points toward Little Bear Canyon."
