Dorothy Stewart Trail

Dorothy Stewart Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This is a wonderful urban trail, easy to follow and well maintained. The piñon-juniper vegetation is very representative of the Sangre de Cristo foothills, and there are marvelous views in all directions, all with very little exertion. It makes an excellent sunset or evening hike in the summer; however, it can be a real scorcher during the day.

Trailhead parking is very limited (4 spaces), so it may be necessary to park in the St. John’s College parking lot and walk 0.7 mile uphill on Camino Cruz Blanca to the trailhead on the left."
