Diablo Canyon

Diablo Canyon Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The dramatic basalt cliffs of Diablo Canyon make this a popular hiking and climbing destination in the Santa Fe area. The hike does not follow a trail but a sandy arroyo, which takes you to the Rio Grande in beautiful White Rock Canyon. There is a free campground at the parking area; however, there are neither restrooms nor water.

This hike can be very hot in summer, and there is very little shade. If you choose to go at this time, leave very early in the morning, take lots of water and even a parasol. At any time of year, be aware of weather, as flash flooding does occur in this arroyo."
