Cerro La Jara Loop

Cerro La Jara Loop Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This easy walk around the beautiful Cerro La Jara volcanic dome traverses open, grassy meadows and provides a 360-degree view of the Valle Grande. Although many hikes take you deeper into the caldera and were open when this guide was researched, you can experience the beauty of the Valles Caldera on this short, easy hike. It is also very well suited for children.

The volcanic dome of La Jara resembles a small island in a sea of wildflowers when visited during an early and intense monsoon season. Dogs are not permitted in the Valles Caldera backcountry or on trails, although service animals are allowed in the preserve."
