"This hike begins north of Los Alamos at the Pajarito Mountain Ski Area and gives an easy introduction to the gentle and inviting Jemez Mountains. The beautiful meadow, Can~ada Bonita, lies directly in your path, and you skirt it for breathtaking views of the Valles Caldera. The forest immediately surrounding the trail was, for the most part, spared the devastation of both the Cerro Grande fire of 2000 and the Las Conchas fire of 2011."
