Canada-Capulin Trail

Canada-Capulin Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This scenic, longer hike wanders through the Dome Wilderness in the Santa Fe National Forest and crosses several canyons on the way to a spring just inside Bandelier National Monument. After leaving the trailhead, the Canada-Capulin Trail climbs
a bit over a low saddle, then descends gradually to cross the
first of three major canyons. After crossing Eagle Canyon, the Canada-Capulin Trail swings around a point and starts to descend the steep west slopes of Sanchez Canyon, the deepest canyon along the trail.

The point where the trail crosses Sanchez Canyon makes a good turnaround point for those who want an easier hike. After contouring below St. Peters Dome, the Canada-Capulin Trail meets the St. Peters Dome Trail. Continue straight ahead on the Canada-Capulin Trail and follow it generally northeast as it contours around minor drainages."
