Mora River Valley Cruise

Mora River Valley Cruise Professional Review and Guide

"If you love cycling out in the country, this route through the beautiful Mora River valley is for you. Here, the Sangre de Cristo Mountains meet the high plains. There is rolling farmland and roadside raspberry picking, plus a state park with a lake where you begin and end your trip.

You will be riding along the eastern edge of the Santa Fe National Forest with some dramatic views of the mountains in the Pecos Wilderness Area. The terrain alternates between small valleys with lush green fields and forests of ponderosa pine. In addition, you will pass through several old Hispanic villages. This ride is a lollipop loop; you’ll pedal out 8 miles before starting the actual loop, then repeat those 8 miles at the end. Terrain: Flat to rolling farmland with one stiff climb."

This rolling cruise takes you past mountain views, pastoral valleys and historic villages. I felt like I was back in France. Perfect distance and great surface.
