Whitewater Baldy

Whitewater Baldy Professional Review and Guide

"The Crest Trail 182 is well used and easy to follow as it ascends a high ridge from the trailhead to Hummingbird Saddle and beyond to the summit of Mogollon Baldy, 12 miles away. A shorter trip leads to the summit of Whitewater Baldy; at 10,895 feet, it is the highest point in the Mogollon Range.

Because water and campsites are readily available at Hummingbird Saddle, this hike is popular. The route leads through a deep Douglas fir forest and offers some wonderful views of the Gila River Region. The trail is exposed all along the ridge, so hikers should be prepared for severe weather."

Lonely, quiet place, little water.saw lots of wildlife, heard lots of wildlife at night.Trails in very poor state. Not a place for the beginner.I was there alone, not a good idea.Spiritual,reflective,ancient.Must be respectful here.No litter, very few signs of people.Rocky and rough.I'll be back.
