South Fork Whitewater

South Fork Whitewater Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Panoramic vistas along with solitude on a lightly used trail are among the rewards leading up to and past Nabours Mountain. The deep South Fork canyon is bounded by sheer cliff walls and colorful rock formations with a permanent stream, dark trout-filled pools, and lush vegetation.

Look for historic mining structures in the lower end. This route to the South Fork of Whitewater is a much more strenuous version of a 19-mile round- trip by way of Whitewater Creek from the Catwalk. At this writing the Whitewater Trail (207) is virtually impassable from flood damage beyond the upper end of the Catwalk."
