Trail 23

Trail #23 is a hiking trail in Catron County, New Mexico. It is within Gila Wilderness Area and Gila National Forest. It is 6.9 miles long and begins at 7,339 feet altitude. Traveling the entire trail is 13.9 miles with a total elevation gain of 2,957 feet. The Upper Dutch Tank (elevation 7,697 feet) and Lower Dutch Tank (elevation 7,608 feet) reservoirs can be seen along the trail. The trail ends near the Black Mountain Lookout (elevation 9,288 feet) tower and Black Mountain (elevation 9,288 feet). This trail connects with the following: Green Fly Trail #26 and Trail #25.
