I had alot of fun on this trail, but I did get lost, even with a GPS. I think I did it backwards, and got stuck in the Pine Flat Loop for a couple of revolutions. Getting up to Juan Tomas was no problem, but on the route back, I eventually had to use the short Mahagony Cutoff to rejoin the trail to the parking area. All in all a great ride, and I'll be back!

Detailed Trail Descriptions from Our Guidebooks

Bob D Antonio
"This is a great ride with extended sections of wonderful singletrack riding through the pine- and oak-covered hills near the Oak Flat Picnic Area. The hardest part of this ride for me was finding the start. From the gate continue straight into the parking area. Find a parking spot as close to the gate as possible. Pedal back to the gate and start the mileage from that point. Pedal back into the parking area and just before the first marked parking space on the right follow a trail into the woods to a singletrack on the left. Take the trail and turn left onto Ponderosa Trail at the 0.4-mile mark. Follow Ponderosa Trail through a cut area to the marked Gamble Trail on the left at 0.9 mile. Get ready for a great run on excellent single-track."
