About a one hour drive from Taos, this hike promises to be beautiful - until we gave up one mile in. End of April is apparently not close enough to Mid May (as the season statistics suggest). We had to hike in to the trail - the snow was too deep for the car, which should probably have been a hint. The hike itself goes through beautiful scenery, but we kept sinking nearly hip-deep into the snow! I'd definitely recommend this hike, but listen to the season advisor!
