Dripping Springs Natural Area Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The tourist industry has been a staple in the desert southwest for more than 100 years. Evidence of this is abundant in Ice Canyon at the base of the Organ Mountains.
In the 1870s, Confederate Civil War veteran Eugene Van Patten established a mountain camp resort at Dripping Springs, attracting visitors from all over the country. In 1917, Van Patten sold his property to Nathan Boyd, who established another southwest staple in the canyon."
