"Piedras Marcadas Canyon is located in the northernmost section of the national monument, and its name means “canyon of marked rocks.”

Even though the trailhead is located in a very urban area, the canyon is actually home to the largest number of petroglyphs in the park. The 2-mile out-and-back trail quickly leaves the urban surroundings and o?ers hikers a short getaway from the hustle and bustle of the nearby city."
