North Diversion Channel Trail

North Diversion Channel Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Albuquerque has been voted one of the top ten bike-friendly cities in the United States for good reason. Trails like the North Diversion Channel run through the city and help connect residents from one side of town to the other. University of New Mexico students frequent the southern portion of this trail, as it runs directly into campus.

Begin your ride from the Balloon Fiesta Museum parking area. Most days of the year this large parking space sits empty and can even appear deserted. However, for nine days in October this area hosts the city’s largest tourist draw. Every hotel in Albuquerque and the surrounding area can fi ll up for the Balloon Fiesta that fills the sky with hundreds of hot air balloons."
