Museum and Courthouse: Better Know the Districts Professional Review and Guide
"Most of this route follows Mountain Road, one of Albuquerque’s first thoroughfares. Formerly known as Carnuel Road, it once connected the plaza of what is now Old Town to the villages of the Cañón de Carnué Land Grant. Cañón de Carnué later became known as Tijeras (“scissors”) Canyon, a rechristening that may refer to the two major roads that came together here like scissor blades.
The route described is mercifully shorter, a mere stroll through revitalized areas east of Old Town, starting from the Museum District and taking a short detour south to finish at the Courthouse District. Three museums stand at one end, three courthouses at the other. And with galleries, shops, eateries, and side streets to explore along the way, just this short walk could take a full day."
