Bandelier National Monument Alcove House Trail

Bandelier National Monument: Alcove House Trail Professional Review and Guide

"The Alcove House Trail in Bandelier National Monument is a 3-mile out-and-back hike that can be combined with the Main Loop Paved Trail if so desired.

The trail takes hikers through Frijoles Canyon to a dwelling that includes a reconstructed kiva that just so happens to require a 140-foot climb up four ladders. Once known as the Ceremonial Cave, the Alcove House was believed to have housed around twenty-five people."
