The high point of this short outing, both literally and figuratively, is an extended rocky ridge overlooking beautiful, pristine Terrace Pond. Sure, there’s also an antediluvian swamp and miles of scenic, secluded backcountry trails. But what you’re likely to savor most will be the exhilaration of scrambling through the puddingstone formations that compose that rocky ridge.

We only had time to hike the Tower Trail but that was a great trail with a great climb and a good work out for the time we had. We will plan to stay overnight nearby soon to allow an early start to complete the trail next time. Superlatives are appropriate. Similar to the Pinnacle trail in PA which is one of the top in the country.

I did this hike with my 7 and 9 year old kids and we all loved it. The view from the tower was fantastic and a perfect spot for lunch. The trails were well marked and fun. I would highly recommend this hike.

Nice trails, well marked, great views and hiking. Seemed to be a bit longer than the stated mileage, however.

I loved this hike, it truly was beautiful and very different. I felt like I was in enchanted forest the whole time we were there. The hike is not really difficult though, only in a couple of 5 or 10 minute instances. One note of caution, once you are done with the tower trail and enjoy the view from that peak, you have to backtrack a little bit on the tower trail to find the northeastern part of white trail.

This was a great hike. The climb on Tower trail is beautiful, an extraordinary view from the top, this is a good time of year too, we didn't see any people until reaching the top of Sunrise Mountain, and the leaves were starting to turn, which made for some colorful patchwork scenery. Definetly was a day well spent.
