Swartswood State Park—Swartswood Lake and Little Swartswood Lake Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Enjoy a huge swan population, good bird-watching, and an island to explore on this large lake. The 2,472-acre Swartswood State Park was established as the first state park in 1914, and offers camping, picnicking, playgrounds, and swimming. Boat rentals are available in-season at the park’s recreation center. The park fee applies for entrance to the recreation area only. Neither lake lies completely within the park’s boundaries, so you will find private property with modest homes around part of Little Swartswood Lake and more than half of Swartswood Lake. Many of the houses sit back 50 to 100 feet from the lakeshore with a privacy screen of trees and do not detract from the overall setting."
