Swartswood State Park Campground Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Families pour into Swartswood State Park Campground on warm summer weekends, and with good reason. Swartswood Lake and its junior sibling, Little Swartswood Lake, feature swimming, boating, and fishing. Highlights of the forested trails include biking, hiking, and horseback riding. Picnicking and birding are also popular, along with the clean, modern bathhouse; playground; laundry room; and choice of wooded or open campsites. The grassy, open sites are the largest of the two loops and closer to the bathhouse.
Choose these if you want to sacrifice privacy for space and community; they’re popular with families and groups who want to stay in adjacent areas. The sites closest to the campground entrance will have constant traffic rolling by, so use caution when setting up camp near the entrance. The sites on the inside of the main loop would be good to reserve for a couple of families."
