Rattlesnake Mountain Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"A pleasant walk over gravel roads and trail takes you to the rocky summit of Rattle snake Mountain. From the summit, overlooking the Poconos in Pennsylvania, there is a fine but limited view of the valley below.
From Blue Mountain Lakes Road, which the A.T. follows about 30 yards, hike north on the A.T. and cross a dirt road in 0.25 mile. In another 1.4 miles, cross a gravel road and descend a short, steep section before reaching a second gravel road at mile 1.8. A short, blue-blazed side trail leads from this gravel road to a view of Crater Lake. Hike along gravel roads for the next 1.4 miles. At mile 3, a steep, 1.5-mile side trail leads to the base of Buttermilk Falls, which is 1,000 feet downhill."
