Sourland Mountain Nature Preserve

Sourland Mountain Nature Preserve Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"In the same hills now visited by hikers and mountain bikers, John Hart, a delegate to the Continental Congress, hid from the British troops who raided his farm in nearby Hopewell. Climb over igneous trap rock, plod through a swampy lowland between two small streams, and search for spotted salamanders, wood frogs, and gray tree frogs hiding within the boundaries of this tucked-away jewel."

The rocky Sourlands are no joke when it comes to boulders. Great walk for kids. Lots of frogs in the ponds.
