"Parvin State Park is a product of the 1930s when the campground and trails were built by young men in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The work was hard and the hours long, but the men were grateful to earn a few dollars to send to their families during the Depression. Parvin boasts 172 species of birds as well as an abundance of deer, salamanders, toads, and turtles. With more than two hundred herbaceous flowering plants, the opportunity to swim in Parvin Lake, and a profusion of club mosses and ferns, this hike is a winner. Camping is available on Jaggers Point, along the south shore of Parvin Lake, and cabins may be rented on the west shore of Thundergust Lake. It’s best to come during fall or winter so that the mosquitoes don’t carry you away, and to wear long pants and sleeves year-round to protect against ticks." Read more

About 2 miles in or so, the trail was underwater and impassable.

Parvin State Park is a great place to walk dogs. Portions of the trail have very nice cedar woods. Walk is about an hour. Flat sand trail. Enjoy.
