The Great Falls of the Passaic

The Great Falls of the Passaic Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Explore the birthplace of one of our nation’s first planned industrial cities. This is an urban hike with sidewalks, street crossings, and paths. The route is a figure eight with spectacular views of the second-largest waterfall, by volume, east of the Mississippi River.

Although they’re often called Paterson Falls, this seems
decidedly unfair: The falls were known for a hundred years
before the city of Paterson existed. Settlers in the 1600s
noted their beauty, and 1700s picnic parties from as far away
as New York came to see the massive waterfalls in the Jersey
hinterlands."
